Rest. It seems so simple, but it can be challenging to do effectively. We encourage you to relax, rest, and recharge this summer & we have some resources to help you do just that! We’ve compiled restful resources into two areas: sleeping & self-care. Check them out below:
Sleeping

But, if counting sheep and those tricks don’t work, you can try a restful meditation to clear your mind and close out the day. It might be helpful to do a mindfulness exercise that keeps you from thinking about everything going on and puts you in the right headspace to finally get some good solid sleep.
Did you know that not all sleep is good sleep? Practicing good sleep hygiene is important in making sure you are as rested as possible. If you want to get into good habits for the upcoming school year, check out this list of ways to improve your sleep hygiene.
Self-Care
In recent years, self-care has been a big buzz word. But what does it actually entail? Self-care describes a conscious act one takes in order to promote their own physical, mental, and emotional health. In other words, it’s a way to make sure you are taking care of yourself in the key aspects of life.
If you are new to self-care, it’s important to know that not every strategy will work for you. Self-care requires some introspection in order to find what will be a good fit for your life. Active Minds put together a list of different types of self-care. Try something new! Being new to self-care requires some trial and error to figure out what is right for you.
If you prefer guided self-care, try Sanvello. It’s one of many self-care apps that can help guide you through self-care and remind you to put yourself at the forefront. You can use it regularly or just try it to get started. Most importantly, listen to your body and do what works for you!
